AMERICAN RED CROSS SHELTERS RELOCATING IN MINOT AT REQUEST OF CITY OFFICIALS
MINOT, North Dakota, June 28, 2011 5 p.m. – Minot City officials have requested the American Red Cross to relocate its shelter operations because of the water issues in south Minot.
The American Red Cross recognizes that this will be an inconvenience for shelter residents. We will work with partner agencies to resolve transportation issues.
Mid-Dakota Chapter Executive Director Allan McGeough states, “The comfort of our clients is always a priority of the American Red Cross. We will continue to care for all of the residents of Minot who request shelter, food, words of comfort, and health services.”
The Red Cross shelter is located at the Minot State University Dome and is able to accommodate the current shelter population. If numbers increase beyond the current capacity, the Red Cross is prepared to open another shelter in an unaffected zone.
